One of the dishes which the waitress recommended was the sizzling tofu. It was among the first to arrive after the lala soup, which I am not surprised as it is not too complicated to make.Contrary to what it's name suggests, this dish did not come sizzling. Regardless, I quite enjoyed this dish. The tofu was well cooked, as it was smooth yet firm. The sauce was thick and flavourful and it comes with the egg scrambled among the gravy. The gravy also has a generous amount of mixed vegetables, mainly the peas, diced carrots and corn kernels. This dish costs RM16 for a large serving for 6 people. continue reading

Another signature dish from this stall is the Cantonese Style Noodle ( Ying Yong or Noddle in Egg Gravy). You can choose to have mixture of fried kueh teow and bihun, just fried kueh teow, just fried bihun and fried yee mee. When they serve the noodles, it is really mouth watering as the egg gravy is pour evenly on top of the noodle. The gravy is simply delicious and taste wonderful when eat together with the noodles. No doubt, I can finish up even the gravy as well. The prawn used is fresh as well. I think this is the best Cantonese Style Noodle that I ever try. continue reading

Wifey ordered the pan mee soup, with the noodle being the hand pinched type. The noodle was pretty good, as it was quite thin. The soup was flavourful. It has a bit of MSG taste, but that is expected. There were some pork slices, pork balls, sweet potato leaves and fried anchovies. Some onion oil was poured on top before serving. Priced at RM5.50 for a big bowl, it was well worth the amount paid. continue reading

continue reading

The dry butter squid in Restoran New Yew Sang is a must-try. The squid is firstly deep fried to golden perfection. Then the egg, curry leaves, sugar and salt is cooked until they become shred-like, crunchy and delicious. We had to wait a bit, presumably because they forgot our order. But good things come to those who wait. It was a perfect ending to a perfect meal. continue reading
