I'm not a fan of char siew, I usually go for siew yoke instead of char siew. But my boyfriend convinced me that I must try the char siew from this shop because they sell the best char siew in town, and so I decided to give it a try.The restuarant was crowded with people but we managed to find a table to sit. We ordered two plates of char siew rice, a plate of stir fired yau mak with osyter sauce and 2 glasses of barley. Our total bill was around RM26. The honey glazed char siew was spot on!!! It was crispy and juicy and the portion was quite big too. Normally other chicken rice stalls will serve a few pieces of char siew, but in here, they serve a number of delicious char siews. What makes the plate of char siew stands out is the secret sauce. I'm not quite sure what the sauce is called, but itwas thick and sweet and really appetizing, quite similar to caramel. The vegetables were also favourful, as the oyster sauce and fried onions really elevates the yau mak.Overall I really enjoyed my meal and I would definitely come here again for a plate of char siew rice! continue reading

Owh yeah! Another lovely gem of a char siew place, in Shah Alam. It seems Shah Alam is loaded with good char siew places! The char siew here is cooked till the fat is totally melted, such that you can taste it, but don't have to chew the fat. The skin is golden sweet and slightly crispy (unevenly), and the meat itself is oozing with goodness and meaty flavour. continue reading

it is restaurant that famous of its char siew (叉烧). The restaurant is full of customers in the morning. The char siew is rich in flavor. The surface is shinning . The tastes is sweet, meaty and chewy. We also try the roasted pork at there. The roasted pork is with crispy skin, and half-fat meat. The tastes is also not bad. continue reading

I like their barley drink because they gave quite a lot of the barley, which I like to munch on before having our main course. It is also not sweet. Our main star of the day. This is seriously something! "The fats will actually melts in your mouth"Siu Yok was just normal and nothing special. Don't like it, it doesn't taste fresh enough. Not crunchy. This restaurant is a must-try place though. No kidding! You won't regret it. continue reading
