My friend recommends The Porki Society fortheir Boat Noodles therefore; we planned to go there for dinner. The PorkiSociety is located at Seapark, Petaling Jaya. The restaurant serves theirsignature Boat Noodles, Pork Balls, Pork Satay (Moo Ping Porki BBQ), Moo TodPorki (Fried Pork Cutlet), Water Spinach, Fried Rice and Beverages. Couple ofpeople occupied the restaurant when we arrived as it was raining heavily. Theambiance of the restaurant was okay, they use tables and chairs like in anolden school days which is quite cool for me and you can also see the staff Barbecuethe pork satay if you manage to sit nearby the kitchen. We ordered BoatNoodles, Pork Satay (Moo Ping Porki BBQ), Moo Tod Porki (Fried Pork Cutlet),Water Spinach (Pak Boong), Tom Yum Fried Rice and Tub Tim Krob. Moo Tod Porki (Fried Pork Cutlet) was seasoned and cooked well. Roll them with a cabbage and enjoy it. Moo Tod Porki (Fried Pork Cutlet) @ RM 11.90Water Spinach (Pak Boong) was good with the sauce. Water Spinach (Pak Boong) @ RM 1.90 Pork Satay (Moo Ping Porki BBQ) was tender and barbecued perfectly. Pork Satay (Moo Ping Porki BBQ) @ RM 5.90 Tom Yum Fried Rice was aromatic and yummy. It is much better than some other restaurants we tried. Tom Yum Fried Rice was served Tom Yum Fried Rice, Cucumber, Omelette, Pork Rinds and Fried PorkiTom Yum Fried Rice @ RM 14.90 They have 2 types of Boat Noodles (Thin and thick noodles) and 2 types of choices for the noodles either dry or soup. We choose 1 of everything from the menu to try as the portion is small.Boat noodle tasted okay as they use the Pork Lard that is pre fried earlier and it has some kind of weird oil taste when you eat them together with the noodles but if it was served fresh then it would be heaven. Just the Pork Lard was their drawback. Boat Noodles @ RM 1.90You can compare the size of the noodles below. Right side was thin noodle while left side was thick noodle. Tub Tim Krob dessert has a rich jackfruit flavour and they are generous with the Red Ruby. Tub Tim Krob @ RM 6.90It was a good dinner for all of us. The boat noodle needs some improvement but the portion was larger than Boat Noodle Empire Damansara so you just need to eat 3-4 bowls of noodles to make you full and good service.Service Charge: (10% + Tax)The Porki SocietyNo 10, Jalan 21/19,Seapark,Section 21,Sea Park,46300 Petaling Jaya,Tel: 03- 7865 1968Email: theporkisociety@gmail.com continue reading

Today I went for lunch with colleagues from Communication Department. I have been saying I wanted to try the set lunch here for ages so we finally came today when I have got the perfect crowd. My friend ordered the Grilled Porki with Signature Sauce (RM 10.90) set lunch which comes with a drink of their choice, be it soda or mineral water. The fried pork is quite spicy but I felt that the rice is too dry. I prefer to eat rice with a lot of sauce or curry on top. My friend thinks that the pork is too spicy for her but I beg to differ. My other male friend ordered BBQ Moo Tod Porki with Thai Chilli Sauce (RM 10.90) lunch set which again, to me, is too dry for the rice to be served without sauce. The BBQ pork is quite ok, in fact, tasty.Me and my other female friend shared a 2 pax set of Boat Noodles for about RM 27.90 which included any choice os 3 snacks, 2 drinks, desserts for 2 pax and choice of 2 Big Bowls and 2 Small bowls of Boat Noodles. I felt that the package is well worth the money paid as the portions were so big that it could have been 3 people eating! Our first snack is the Moo Ping Porki BBQ Skewers which was 2 instead of 5 sticks if you order it ala-carte. I really like anything that is served in skewers including this. The second snack is Sai Krok Thai BBQ Pork Sausage which is worth RM 4.90. The sausage has some spice inside and the texture is quite tasty. The Tako Chestnut Desserts were quite smooth and delicious. Unfortunately, my stomach could no longer take this in so I took this back to office to eat for tea time. Unfortunately, I was so full from lunch till dinner time. The next snack is Moo Tun Signature Marinated Pork (RM 4.90 ala-carte) which is tender and tasty and a bit like Pai Kut or Bak Kut Teh. I ordered the mini Sprite drink served in the small bottle version itself which I find it very cute. We ordered 1 Big Bowl of Thai Flat Noodles in soup and the other was in the big sized version in dry style. The rest is bihun in soup and also dry style. I prefer the flat noodles no matter how. Somehow, the flat noodles are not as spicy as the one I have tried in Boat Noodles at Empire Damansara, which I believe is the expert in this field in KL.I really like the Thai Dessert which was Tako Chestnut which was quite tasty and not too creamy. continue reading
