Despite the proliferation of Balinese restaurants in the Klang Valley, this might be the only non-halal one for now (though there's no "babi guling" here, boo hoo!) The Uma's specialty is "Nasi Ratus," a platter of black-eyed pea rice with sate lilit, shredded chicken & veggie salads, stir-fried long beans & spiced potato fries. It's a hearty, wholesome serving that's simple yet satisfying. Assam-marinated pork satay. A bit too chewy and not meaty or flavourful enough. Steamed duck. A luscious recipe. Succulent, fall-off-the-bone meat in a marvelous herbal broth that we would have licked clean if we had been hungrier. Babi Kicap Manis. Marvelous comfort food, with a home-cooked feel. The pork was chunky but tender, making this a real carnivore's delight. Grilled chicken. Sufficiently juicy and aromatic to recommend.

Specialises in Balinese cuisine, The Uma is the best place to have the varieties of dishes in the cuisine. It also offers a great dining experience with its tastefully decorated interior. As Balinese cuisine offers loads of spices and sambals, wash them down with Es Campur Bali with jackfruit, cendol, cincau, nata de coco and coconut meat in milk syrup. It is very palatable as it’s not too sweet unlike the overly sweetened ais kacang we have elsewhere. If you like something to warm the tummy, the Bubuh Kacang Ijo is the one for you. Using green bean, it is cooked into porridge-like texture with ginger, gula bali and topped with coconut milk.

I've always wanted to try Balinese cuisine WITHOUT going to bali. So you can imagine how excited I was when I found out about this restaurant called The Uma nearby my house. These are some of the food / drinks you should order if you ever pay this restaurant a visit in the future aight? Assam Pork Satay @ RM14. Pork satay! Dip the satay in the sauce and you're good to go! Sauce is sweet, with a little of spiciness in it, which makes the satay even tastier Es Timun Segar @ RM7. It's a combination of fresh cucumber, lime and mint. Tasted refreshing at first sip and it just gets better as you sip on. Pesan Be Tuna (Grilled Tuna in Banana Leaf Set) @ RM24. I think this could be shared among 2 persons if you have a very small appetite. With the side dishes served together in the meal, one could be easily satisfied; grilled tuna, fried potato, mixed vegetables, fried onions in oil, chili chicken strips etc. Jus Apokat @ RM9. I've never thought that I would be drinking avocado juice one day. But this managed to surprise me. Bonus points awarded for the chocolate syrup!
