I've been wanted to try Aunt Christina's Sarawak Laksa since a very long time after reading some of the food review blog post and my Sarawakian friends in KL who actually recommended this place one of the best Sarawak Laksa to be found in KL area.Located at Lucky Garden in Bangsar, this little stall takes a part of Nam Chuan Coffeeshop. They have other choices such as economy rice, Penang prawn mee, pan mee and of course the Sarawak Laksa.Laksa Sarawak (Small RM6.50 / Big RM7.00)A bowl of Sarawak Laksa to cure my cravings. On top of the bee hoon, you can find the 2 fresh prawns, some chicken meat strips, bean sprouts, omelette strips and coriander leaves. In my opinion, the laksa gravy was pretty rich and the flavour was almost similar to the one I had back in Kuching a few months back but the bean sprouts was a little too much that every single bite I had to chew the bean sprout more than the noodle itself. The prawn was too raw as well, the laksa gravy wasn't hot enough to make it less raw. It was too pricy too. I guess maybe the rental in Bangsar cost more than places like PJ or the owner purposely increase the price just because some famous celebrity went to eat at the stall before and it was on the newspapers. My typical cup of hot Milo while Daniel having his hot Teh-C.Apart from the Sarawak Laksa, Aunt Christina also sells rendang, black pepper chicken and pig stomach which I heard was quite good as well. continue reading

I like to eat Sarawak Laksa, one of the main reason is that I never find any laksa taste similar to eat. The soup is so thick and the meehoon is quite rough too. But these two makes a good combination of a good bowl of noodle. The laksa here isn't spicy at all. Instead, you get to smell a very nice fragrance while you are eating it. The prawn that aunty christina offers is quite generous too. They are big. continue reading

Craving for Sarawak Laksa but Sarawak is too far from you? No worries, Auntie Christina will bring it from East Malaysia to West Malaysia for you. Her family members are all expert in selling Sarawak Laksa. Auntie Christina started this business more than 10 years ago. Before this, she was staying in Sarawak and learn the secret recipe from her mom.Laksa can be found almost everywhere in Klang valley, what is so special about this Sarawak Laksa? First of all looking at the soup of the laksa, the curry actually is thicker compare to KL version. I would call it as gravy instead of curry soup because the soup is thicker. There is no curry powder at all. They replace it with belacan, lemon grass, coconut etc. The beehoon they use is the thicker version that you hardly can find it over here. Topping with omelette, beansprout and chicken slice, the nice Sarawak Laksa is ready to go into your stomach. continue reading
