Another jewel in the town not to be miss is the Kedai Makanan Hong Lai which is located along Jalan Genting Klang. This shop is recomended by Nigel from Food and Frame and we had dine there this round. The shop is an old shop where you can see the chef frying the noodles in front of the shop with chacoal. It is located along busy road of Jalan Genting Klang, it occupies two shoplots with one of them being air-conditioned and during the night. Parking is a challenge in this area as the parking space is limited. After waited for about half an hour, our char hor fan is finally on the table. The dark wet shinny hor fan is really full of aroma and the “wok hei”. The texture is good and I really love it so much. continue reading

It is restaurant that famous of its dai chao (大炒). What it is so special is it use charcoal to cook rather than gas stove. All the dai chao (mee hoon, mee, koay teow, yee mee) is fragant and nice. We have tried the hokkien mee. The hokkien mee is rich in flavor. The char koay teow is also quite nice, especially we order to add in fresh egg on it. The taste is really nice. continue reading
