Fancy having Yong Tau Foo with porridge? Well I could never imagine eating Yong Tau Foo this way but it seems that all the patrons here do that! I was amazed and almost thought it is a Dim Sum restaurant as I knew there was one here in Taman Paramount. There was even a queue to buy food here, unlike conventional Yong Tau Foo cafes where we pick the food in the food list and give the list to the waitress. So it is a bit like a food court or kopitiam style here. I kind of over ordered as I was quite greedy when I saw everything I like. I ordered oily fried brinjal, my favourite tofu and ladies' fingers and also fried foo chuk. I should have just settled for Chee Cheong Fun or friend bihun mee which is cheaper at RM 2.50 but I greedily ordered the Porridge which came in a big portion. The porridge had a lot of ingredients such as dried oyster and mushrooms and was very flavoursome, hence the hefty cost of RM 5 for the porridge including additional Century Egg. continue reading

continue reading

i like the yong tau foo here which are vegetables or tofu that is stuffed with fresh fish paste and also the fish meat or the fish paste must be very fresh and usually fresh which means peel of from the fish itself and blend it. very fresh item here and i do like the brinjal and foo chuk the most. the service is very fast and seats are quite limited. the congee also need to try out very smooth and delicious taste continue reading

Fish Ball. Khong Kee has been in Taman Paramount for a long time and I have been patroning it since I got to know about this shop many years ago. I have seen its price increase gradually over the years and some times I felt that it is a bit expensive compared to other yong tau fu shops. The fish ball was not too big piece, and it was quite springy though. It was bland and tasteless. continue reading

The taste and the quality of the food remain after even few years not been there. The porridge is creamy with century egg and crisp spring onion. While the yong tau foo is served hot, the portion size is big and very fulfilling after a few. The fried taufu is soft and very spongy. The soup is not salty, hence we could finish the whole bowl in seconds. Recommended and delicious! continue reading
