I have heard pretty good review about Coco Steamboat from a few friends, especially the one that lives in Taman Desa. No surprise that the place was quite busy when we arrived for dinner over the weekend and we had to wait for a while before getting a table. But the smaller the pax then it's a little easier to get a table. Immediately we got down to ordering and it would be stupid of us to not try their famous pork bone soup base. The soup was a milky colour rather than clear and one spoonful packs a big punch of flavour, probably from it bieng boiled for very long hours. However be aware that they charge an extra Rm20 or 30 when you do order this soup. For quick and easy food, just order the sets which are already prepared. It consists of some seafood, fishballs and other usual steamboat kind of ingredients. Nothing overly fancy however there is the option to add on different things too at an added price. Like pork slices which I liked even though it is a little expensive for those slices of meat. It does tastes good when lightly cooked in the soup then dipped in the many kinds of sauces that is provided. Now let's talk about the different kinds of chilli sauces, there are some that are just regular and then there's the really gragrant & spicy one. They're all good in their own way especially when different kinds of things are dipped into it. The green one, take a little bit then mix it with a spoonful of soup just makes things super exciting.I don't know whether the steamboat is as good as everyone says it is. Even though I quite enjoyed dining there, I don't think I'd go all the way to Coco with the crowd unless I'm nearby and it's convenient.  繼續閱讀

We were surprised upon arrival as the restaurant was renovated with its own building now where patrons get a choice to either dine at the non-air conditional or air conditional room. So much has changed since the last we came. The down side is now we have to a hefty price of RM 5 for its parking now, on an empty land adjoining right next to the restaurant. Not too sure if the fees will be collected by the restaurant owner or its run by other management. That aside, the quality of the food served is relatively well maintained. Famous for their signature Pork Knuckle based broth, it is advisable to come early or to make a reservation to avoid disappointments of long queue and long waiting time especially on Friday night and weekends. You can either choose to order their ala carte items or set. We opt for the individual set of RM 18.80 per person with a minimum order of 2 sets. It includes pork balls, noodles, fried bean curd, prawns and many more. The set’s portion was a little too big for girls, perhaps it would be just nice for guys instead. The soup is nice, which kind of reminds me of fish head noodle as it looks and tasted a little milky for us. There is also cabbages and yam in the soup which adds a tint of sweetness to the broth. We will definitely come back some time again in future. 繼續閱讀

Our favourite soup base at Coco Steamboat (海底炉) is the giant pork knuckle bone milky and creamy Double Stewed Soup base. I believe it is boiled for many hours and contains a lot of collagen. Goes well with the steamboat ingredients and the soup which is already nice will be nicer at the end of the steamboat.Coco Steamboat has moved to a new location which is super big and spacious.Parking space seems to be small but their staff will manage the traffic for you.The staffs are friendly and always ready to serve you.Visit my full post of our visit to this steamboat restaurant:http://huislaw.blogspot.com/2015/03/coco-steamboat-at-old-klang-road.html 繼續閱讀
