My grandparents are true-blue hakka so they often times crave for really good hakka food. Ones where neither of them have to cook themselves so when mom found out about this place, it was immediately the place where we have to bring them. We ordered the pepper soup with pig stomach & meat. This was really good because the soup packed a really good punch of flavours and had the right amount of spice from the pepper. Everybody at the table loved this and constantly went back for more even though our nose were starting to get runny from the heat of the soup. But this is really really worth it all. As always we would order the yam abascus because it's a staple hakka dish. But also it isn't easy to come around since most restaurants doesn't prepare this dish due to it's heavy work load with little yield. Although we did like the one served at Goldview, it isn't the best we had so far and was a little small portion wise. This dish came recommended by the waiter. It's pork intestines with sweet & sour sauce. At first I was quite reluctant to try this because I do not prefer my main dish to be sweet however I gave this the benefit of the doubt. Surprisingly it was actually pretty alright, though I'm sure I'd prefer to have intestines to be cooked simply rather than be covered by lots of complicated flavours. Just for the grandparents, we ordered vinger pork trotters and expected it to be good or at least up to our standards. What my family is used to is the sauce being very sour, sweet and also spicy. Although this was still quite a little from what we're used to having at home, it is pretty good in our opinion. Though I was more into the pepper soup than this.  繼續閱讀

Spicy pepper soup mixed with pork stomach and pork. I added on the abalone mushroom as I love more mushrooms in the soup. The soup itself it very peppery spicy, not diluted at all, full with the pork stomach taste. It was not too salty overall. The pork stomach was chewy. The mushrooms were soft and lot too. The soup also consisted button mushroom.

Taman Paramount is a hidden place where many small restaurants have been operating without today's big marketing and advertising strategy. They focus on preparing the best quality food to customers and people came to visit based on word of mouth. Restoran Goldview serve Hakka dishes, run by a couple. Spicy pepper pork intestine soup is a must order. On a rainy day, this soup will warm you up. The soup is made with white peppercorn, pork intestine, button mushroom and slices of pork. The soup is best consumed hot. Soup is very sweet and spicy, and non oily. Coriander is added for a refreshing taste. Bitter gourd cooked in black bean sauce with chicken. The sauce is slightly salty than expected. We thought the chicken would be those that are with bones, but we were served with chicken breasts. If the dish is cook with chicken with bones, the flavours will simmer into the chicken. Although the chicken breasts were not dry, we still didn't like it. Bitter gourd was cooked nicely without the bitter taste. The name of this dish is Sizzling Seafood omelette. Honestly, we thought this is the worst dish of the night. The reason is because the omelette is prepared in such a simple way, without much effort. The taste was bland, we didn't taste any seasoning at all. The omelette was too dry. The seafood is actually some pieces of crab meat sticks, which we really feel it shouldn't be categorized as seafood. This dish is really not worth ordering at all and anyone could do better than this. The saver and the star dish of the night is this Muy Choy Kao Yuk. It is a prominent dish in Hakka cuisine and thank God they make this dish quite good. The dish must use the pork belly part with three layers of fats to give the best result. Muy choy is added to add sweetness to the dish. The sauce of this dish is so appetizing, everyone added the sauce to the rice. The pork belly would just melt into your mouth and it actually doesn't feel greasy at all. 繼續閱讀
