Vegetarian PastriesApart from the usual vegetarian dishes, this Guan Yin temple is also frequented by people for its many healthy and delicious homemade pau and buns.Amongst them are the red bean and lotus filling pastry. The pastry layer is thin enough to allow you to enjoy the natural sweetness of the fillings, without much guilt. And my favourite always goes to their red bean ones. Lei cha is indeed an acquired taste. This dish, which is pretty much just vegetables, soup, and rice, doesn't take well to many people. However, if you're willing to give it a shot, this is the best place to have that first try. They only serve it on Fridays and the queue can get quite long; and if you're not early enough, it can run out!This dish is predominantly salty, and mildly bitter - practially not sweet or sour in any way. As sweet as it gets is from the peanuts that is one of the ingredients used, which gives it a much-needed nuttiness. Prawn Mee. The prawn mee has many vegetarian ingredients that includes button mushrooms, beancurd and others. The broth however was slightly diluted and does not resembled the real prawn mee broth. It was just a normal noodle soup with some slight spiciness in my opinion. I finished all the ingredients but did not finish the soup as I do not prefer this clear soup. 繼續閱讀

Back in the past, I am the person who will not eat celery or drink the juice. But recently, I have no idea why but celery became one of my favour vegetables from economy rice stall. Celery is one of the nutritional vege that doctor recommended to everyone. It lowers the blood pressure naturally and contains high level of calcium, magnesium etc. Taste wise, this stir-fried celery is not salty, just nice and the celery is not hard but chewy. 繼續閱讀

每一天都吃肉,今天吃吃素吧。来到这个很著名的庙里,选了一些素菜跟一个白饭。原来吃素也是不错,看得出煮素的师傅很用心,花很多心机在里面,因为他们把食物做成像肉类,真的很用时间。我吃着这包菜里面有很多东西,如黄梨,菜,fuzuk等。还运用了fuzuk 做许多的炸料。但是里面是素的。 繼續閱讀
