Treated by my girlfriend for birthday dinner.Ate the Omakase set (HK$880 + 10% s.c. per person).The appetizer set and wagyu ribeye pieces were great, but some of the other pieces were a bit too "meaty" for us. Not a huge fan of the sirloin or flank pieces but do understand that there are some diners who enjoy these much more than us.Still a great overall experience, next time will try the sukiyaki side. continue reading

本來訂的另一家燒肉店,週末都限時一個鐘頭。燒肉怎能急吃?小妹提議回來 YakiniKuu。午餐並不熱鬧,因而沒有時限吧。可點套餐,簡單點了特選牛肉套餐,還追加了薄切牛舌和帶子。前菜有燉牛肉(應該是直火「燜」才是,不過見湯汁不濃,就稱呼它「燉」吧)和沙律。燉牛肉調味帶甜。加甜的 savoury dish 是很巧功夫的,很多時甜味過了頭,這個燉牛肉還好,甜味沒有掩蓋了肉香。而沙律雖然普通蔬菜(薯仔、番茄、生菜)和醬汁,生菜居然出奇地新鮮 icy crispy ,有點喜出望外。雖說特選,套餐牛肉不及 a la carte 的精選,不期望頂級部位,好些肉片脂肪分佈太不平均,大抵程度可以接受。只有其中一碟,有一半差不多完全肥肉,我們請店員換過,他欣然照辦沒有推搪。價錢所限,小妹理解。最重要還是這裡燒肉依然味美,燒出來都味道香濃而肉質幼滑。追加牛舌。日本牛舌不出口,燒肉店的牛舌應來自澳洲或者美國吧。菜單有厚切薄切。小妹獨愛薄薄一片,灑上青檸汁,加蔥花烤,捲成牛舌卷,視為極品。『三郎。燒肉』店員 sell 厚切才好,我不否定,見仁見智啦。今天開了一樽 『赤野  潦  純米吟醸』,有層次,酒柔和中帶點酸,似乎十分適合燒肉,餘韻簡潔。弱弱一問,這種程度酸度的清酒是否少有?小妹對日本酒無甚麼研究,辛口甜美,濃厚淡麗都沒所謂,只要沒有「豆豉」味就喜歡。朋友說小妹不懂欣賞日本酒的「醬香」。帶子,小妹認為最好吃是直火燒。其他無論加甚麼橙汁、甜酒、又焗又蒸,粉絲蒜蓉,我吃過千百種烹調方式,blah blah blah 吹噓如何美味 ,都完全沒法與直火燒烤沾醬油吃可比。小妹提議來 YakiniKuu,另有目的,就是要吃咖哩飯。這個咖哩飯(不是和牛咖哩飯套餐$ 150 那個 ,而是單點 $65 可加溫泉蛋那一款),如果稱為「日本咖哩飯」,小妹膽敢說一句這是「三不像」—— 非日式、不像日本咖喱、唔多似日本米 —— 不過那「三不像」是小妹吃過最美味的咖哩飯呢 。牛舌厚切方塊咖哩,味道很 mild and creamy,簡直味之和諧。沒有香辛料舌頭上彈跳的感覺,甚至比ハヤシ (Hayashi) 那種 hashed beef gravy 牛肉汁還要醇和而且「平實」,當然更加沒有ハヤシ的濃厚和番茄之味。【講開又講, Hayashi Rice 由來,一說是日本『丸善』創辦人早矢仕有的 (Hayashi Yuteki) 用牛肉和野菜做菜招呼外國來賓因而以他姓氏 Hayashi 為名 ——《丸善百年史》有這樣的記載。不過小妹認為名字不過是 beef hash 的翻譯而已,未必那麼「浪漫」呢。】回說 YakiniKuu 咖哩飯,米飯沒有日本米那種軟糯和 subtle 的香甜,反而蠻港式,有點 mid-grain rice 米身稍有質感,口感較為堅實,撈埋溫泉蛋和咖哩牛舌一大啖擠進口裡,才可盡情感受渾然天成的美味啊 。還有甜品的,只是普通雪糕,不說了。小妹認為吃燒肉是要有自由度,限時固然不理想,也不用太形式化,硬要先吃もも肉,然後吃 ribeye,再吃 filet,最後吃カルビ、牛舌等等,更不用服務員全程站著為我們燒烤呢。All in all —— YakiniKuu 午餐沒有限時,這點已經可取。套餐不過不失,但消費理性,四個人四份午餐,追加牛舌和帶子,還叫了酒咖哩飯,每人 $550,還是可以推薦的喔。 continue reading

I came here for lunch with my girl friend. The walk up to the restaurant was good exercise before our yummy meal. We ordered two lunch sets, the steak set ($180) and the yakinikuu set ($190). The quality of the beef was good. The steak was Australian beef, while the beef for the yakinikuu set was Japanese beef. The steak was nicely marinated and the meat was not tough. I cannot say the beef melted in my mouth but it almost did. For the price you pay, this steak set was a bargain! The set came with rice, beef stew, salad, soup and ice cream! 😋十分滿意好味的燒牛肉午餐!牛質嫩滑,味味可口。價錢合理,燒得十分開心。午餐套餐選擇多而且是白飯任添。牛扒一號餐十分滿足。牛扒厚,醃得入味。😋 continue reading
