We visited Greyhound Cafe at IFC Mall for lunch on a Wednesday. After a 10min wait, my friend and I were assigned a table of 2 in the middle of the restaurant, but as we approached we saw another table near window side was being cleared up, so we asked politely the waiter who brought us in whether we can sit there. He said yes and we proceeded to that table. After 30 seconds, another male, tall (around 6 feet) waiter walked fast-paced towards us and said "no you cannot sit there it's reserved" (

We visited Greyhound Cafe at IFC Mall for lunch on a Wednesday. After a 10min wait, my friend and I were assigned a table of 2 in the middle of the restaurant, but as we approached we saw another table near window side was being cleared up, so we asked politely the waiter who brought us in whether we can sit there. He said yes and we proceeded to that table. 

After 30 seconds, another male, tall (around 6 feet) waiter walked fast-paced towards us and said "no you cannot sit there it's reserved" (obviously making up a reason as they somehow don't like people picking tables). We told him another waiter already gave the table to us. He insisted no. I told him he should have better communication with his fellow staff as it's causing us a lot of confusion and have to walk back and forth in a crowded, small restaurant. He seemed angry at that moment and when I tried to walk past him between the aisle between the tables, the big waiter decided to give me a physical "bump". I immediately stared at him and said, "excuse me, you bumped me!". And he was half-smiling, saying sarcastically "Oh I'm sorry" and whispered a 4-word Cantonese swear word at my ear! I was shocked as this is the first time I hear a waiter swear, not to mention in a high-class shopping mall like IFC mall!

I went back to get his name, but he told me his first name only. By that time we decided that we will stand up and leave the restaurant as we were worried that he would temper with our food.

As I left I asked another waiter for his last name, and that tall waiter heard us asking about him, he immediately walked fast paced towards us swearing again at our face with a 4-word Cantonese swearword, heard by a lot of customers. 

I'm shaking my head, is this the service one would expect at IFC Mall? This is appalling!! I have read a lot of other reviews about this Greyhound Cafe and it seems the poor service is a systematic problem. IFC Mall should do something about this.
