"New style of Yatsuhashi with playful appearance and taste.
Yatsuhashi is one of the most typical Kyoto sweets and souvenir items; sweet dough made of rice flour is flavoured with cinnamon and eaten baked or fresh. nikiniki is a new brand of yatsuhashi produced by Kyoto’s most historical yatsuhashi shop, Shogoin Yatsuhashi. By adding the essence of other Japanese sweets or even Western sweets, they offer a brand new way of enjoying yatsuhashi. Some of their yatsuhashi are, surprisingly, blue and pink, looking like colourful jewellery in the showcase. Pretty yatsuhashi makes the perfect accompaniment to a cup of tea at home as well as a nice gift to bring for someone. The photo is of the Carré de Cannelle for those customers who would like to make their own original yatsuhashi with different fillings (sweet red bean paste, fruit confit, etc.)"
