I've heard such amaaaazing things about this place from colleagues, friends and magazines that I was absolutely dying to try it. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed and didn't think it lived up to the hype at all. The food was good, but it definitely wasn't mind blowing. The avocado wasabi tuna tartare was definitely the most satisfying dish on the menu as the tuna was fresh and nicely complimented by the creamy texture of the avocado-wasabi mix. However, the crispy squid had way too much batter on it causing it to become soggy really fast. In addition, the 12 hour roasted pork belly wasn't as succulent as I'd hoped it be and the pork cracklings which accompanied it were too big to bit into!I didn't quite fancy the decor which was rather raw and minimalistic and their cocktail menu left much to be desired. To find out more of my thoughts on their dishes as well as what interesting concoction arrived when we ordered the gyoza, please visit my blog above! For full review and more photos, please visit https://treatsandmeats.squarespace.com/blog/2013/7/17/kilo continue reading

The FoodI ordered the Ribs and Potatoes ($20) and Braised Pork Belly with Purple Mash ($28). I was quite surprised when they serve the Ribs and Potatoes in a special wooden board and not the normal plate at other restaurants. The ribs are especially tender and sweet and the potion large enough to be considered a main! The BBQ flavour sauce also just nice when combined with the pork ribs. As for the Braised Pork Belly with Purple Mash, the pork belly was accompanied by crispy pork lard and purple mash potato that had a slight fruity zest. The pork belly was well marinated and braised perfectly with a flavourful sauce but the portion quite small for me. The AmbienceAs night grew, the staff placed glasses of candles on each table and the atmosphere instantly exuded a romantic and laid-back charm. They also started playing soothing music in the background. A perfect place to just sit, relax and chat with a group of family and friends. The PriceReasonably priced at $50++ for the whole billOverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this! continue reading

IS my second time here with friendsThe Risotto with Sea Scallops & Bell Peppers that I had is worth mentioning. The bell peppers actually gave colour & flavour to the risotto rather than featuring as an ingredient. There was a generous amount of scallops, the flavour of the sauce was quite complex, tasting almost like a prawn or lobster bisque.I would recommend if you want to have proper Italian dinner Overall i rate 8/10 continue reading
