Recently came here for breakfast dad when he suggested this stall as he got cravings for it. It's been a while since my last visit to this hawker centre! When you reach the stall, can already see a queue of loyal fans! Happily start eating when a bowl of piping hot sheng mian arrived at my table! Love the simple and sweet broth which goes so well with the bowl of sheng mian. Noodles texture is nice with fresh ingredients! I find the portion just nice for me too. ( Review from mobile ) continue reading

these hand pulled noodles were a sight to behold. i liked to see them take rolls of flour and stretch them before pulling them apart into pieces and throwing them into boiling soup. now of course, in this bowl, the most important ingredient would be the noodles. the rest are just accessories. and how did the mains fare?to be honest? it was a little too hard for my liking. it tasted half cooked. the pieces were so thick i think cooking it any longer would just turn the soup into starch and not have any impact on the actual bite of the noodles. the accessories then? substantial. the soup could do with more taste though. that was easily solved by my chilli padis. continue reading

I have tried the soup version of mee hoon kueh last month and i came back this time to have the dry version of mee hoon kueh. The queue was still long this time. As each bowl is cooked individually and so long waiting time is expected. The dry version has to be ordered at $3. The portion is substantial to feed a hungry tummy. The pieces of mee hoon kueh were made from a handmade dough then cooked and drained off the water. It was then served with ingredients like prawns, ikan belis, minced meat, vegetable and chilli. These pieces of mee hoon kueh were cooked well to give it the desirable texture and a likable chewiness. The chilli has added flavor to the overall taste. The well-balanced spiciness complemented nicely when tossed it well with the mee hoon kueh. The queue was still there after i done eating. I guess this simple and comforting taste may be the possible reasons for such a constant queue. continue reading
