We ordered the Phat Thai Talay , Khao Gai Phat Krapow , Woon Sen Kaeng Chued Luk Ngaw, Phuket’s Citrus Treat. There wasn't much people when we were dining, so it was quiet and nice. The place was clean and orderlyThe staff was friendly and attentive. Phat Thai Talay = Phat Thai with seafood was flavourful as it mixes well with the lime/chilli powder etc. very authentic tastingKhao Gai Phat Krapow = Rice with stir-fried spicy minced chicken with Thai basil , I loved the chicken, full of flavour, I wished there were more white rice to pair off with! tender flavour and appetizing.Woon Sen Kaeng Chued Luk Ngaw = Glass noodle with chicken tang hoon ball in soup caught my attention due to the funny big ball of tanghoon and meat! it was light and refreshing. menu states it's only for kids, but I guess it's for the kid inside me. Location : Bugis+ is a nice place to windowshop and easy walking distance to neighbouring bugis junction / bugis village etc continue reading

The ThaiExpress served many varieties of Thai food and they are really great. Here's some of the many I've tried: Full review with more varieties:http://chiamhuiy.blogspot.com/2013/04/food-tasting-thai-express.htmlThai Rice Cracker served with Special ThaiExpress Creamy Chicken and Shrimp Sauce Khoa Tang Naa $7.90Firstly, the Rice Cracker was still crispy despite being aired for some time due to the overwhelming photo-taking session of the food. I was surprised the crackers were still crispy though it has been served like almost half hour ago. Paired it with the special ThaiExpress Creamy Chicken and Shrimp Sauce gave the plain-looking crackers an additional taste of creamy and sweetness. It wasn't spicy at all. Small chicken chunks were found as well, thus you'll be able to eat the sauce and chicken with the rice crackers. But honestly, the special thing of this dish has to be the in-house special sauce that caught my appetite.Thai-style DIY Minced Chicken and Dry Kway teow SaladKway Teow Lui Suan $9.30Similar to Korean BBQ style, simply hold on to a slice of lettuce, pick up a slice of kway teow and filled it with the minced chicken. As the name suggests, this is like a DIY style where you prepare your every bite with the ingredients provided to you. I love the minced meat because it's not only juicy and tender, the sauce was great enough to make the minced meat really moist and smooth. This isn't spicy as well. Deep-fried Minced Crab Meat and Chicken Cake with Plum SaucePoo Cha$10.40Generously filled with minced crab meat and chicken, a bite of it was good enough for me to chew on the prominent crab and chicken meat. The don't fluff you with the flour and anything, but you'll really find real crab meat within the fried skin. Topped with fried egg shreds and paired with their special plum sauce, it can't get any better. I would like to make a special mention to the plum sauce, because it gives a very appetizing tangy taste to the fried cake, which normal fried meat cake can be a little dry and you'll find yourself not finishing the side dish. For this case, the plum sauce saves the world. Crispy Tom Yum Chicken WingTom Yum Peek Gai $8.30Drizzle the lemon juice over the chicken wings, that's the thing you ought to do if you order this. The lemon juice complements the wings so well because the sourness appetizes me a lot, despite my already full stomach.ThaiExpress Coconut Paradise - $5.30Take a small little portion from each cup and there you have - a mixture and combination of nuts, sweet potato, coconut icecream and sticky rice. Steamed Sweet Potato with Coconut MilkMun Cheam $5.30At first I really thought this is a plate of papaya -_- But little did I expect sweet potato can resemble so much like papaya. Drizzled with coconut milk on top of the sliced sweet potato, it sure is my favourite for the whole meal. Overall, the quality of the food served here was great. The speed was alright too and they didn't keep us waiting for very long. Drop by thaiexpress for some good thai food. Did you know that Thai Express have steamboat? I was shocked to see a banner outside their restaurant advertising the "Wickedly Spicy" steamboat. I have a thing for spicy food but the "Wickedly Spicy" phrase did put some fear in me, so i told the waiter i wanted less spicy. The soup was just right spiciness when they served. There were a lot of ingredients like fish, chicken, sotong, prawns, straw mushroom and kang kong. the portion of tung hoon was simply a lot. Halfway through the meal, i started to think it was for two people as i could not finish it. but it was really good! continue reading

I had a Tom yam fish soup set for $8.90. It was delicious! When you mention Tom Yam, a red chilli coloured soup naturally comes to mind. But at Thai Express, the Tom Yam Soup is clear! The intial taste was really sour. It literally spiked into my taste sensory buds. But soon it was calmer and I am in love with it! The soup was well balanced. The spicy and sour taste was maintained by plums and chilli padi. The mushroom was well cooked. The fish and prawns were alright. continue reading

I love thai food and i went to thai express that day because they were having some set lunch promotion. My meal cost less than $10 and it's good. Ice water took a long time to come and the restaurant feels empty. It is quiet but my friends and I feel kinda of lonely inside. We almost wondered if the food is food or not, but we suspect it's because illuma is still new.Chilli is my favourite. It comes with a dessert - sweet tapioca, which my friends do not like. I ate half of it partly because i was full and also because one piece of tapioca is rather hard (i only ate the soft one). continue reading
