For full review: http://nkikichua.blogspot.sg/2016/01/dessert-project-havelock-road-tiong.htmlI could not not post and rave about how good their toast is. A three inch toast topped with a dollop of whipped cream, two scoops of hand-crafted ice cream and finish with drizzles of delectable sauce. There are a total of six flavours to choose from, we had the Gula Melaka Coconut [$14.90] - coconut ice cream, grated coconut flakes and gula melaka syrup. The hand-crafted coconut ice cream is one of the most impressive flavour, comparable to Chatuchak Market's signature coconut ice cream in Thailand. Now for the best part, the toast. If you have tried and like After You's Shibuya Toast in Bangkok, you have got to try Dessert Project's! Soft, fluffy and buttery, a great alternative and it won't disappoint. The toast is good for sharing.Because we shared the toast among the four of us, we ordered a waffle to go along. continue reading

For the full review and more photos, head over to http://toroamtheworld.blogspot.com/2015/12/food-review-dessert-project.htmlThe Dessert Project is an ice cream parlour located in an unassuming HDB void deck in Tiong Bahru. It's not at the hipster/gentrified enclave where Tiong Bahru Bakery is, but towards Havelock Road/Bukit Ho Swee that side. They are surprisingly surviving despite being in a mature neighbourhood!Nutella Toast ($14.90): I forgot the exact name of the dish, but it comes with vanilla ice cream, Ferrero Rocher ice cream, whipped cream, and drizzled liberally with Nutella sauce. We ordered an additional scoop of Pistachio ice cream. The ice cream flavours were pretty rich, especially the Ferrero Rocher and Pistachio. The toast was very crispy, light, fluffy and buttery! It was very fragrant and it didn't feel gelat at all.I definitely think the thick toasts here deserves more than a try. But share it with at least one person! The shop owners are friendly and readily give recommendations. Can tell they take pride in their interesting ice cream flavours and everything else that they do. (: continue reading

And so I heard of another cafe along Havelock road serving ice creams, waffles and the famous shibuya toast. That's right, if you have heard about it too, it is a new shop under the blocks of flats called Dessert Project. Dessert Project's interior - very simplistic, shades of grey and concrete. With black pipes running like an artwork. We decided to pop by and we found creative flavours of ice cream - from truffle to parma ham and famous amos flavoured ice cream. Ice Cream The truffle flavour was way to dense, probably good to share. One scoop is too much for a pax. We liked the famous amos flavour which came out fresh from the kitchen when we arrived. A scoop for $3.80, $4.20 for premium flavours, it compares to most ice cream bars around Singapore. Nutella ToastA variety of toast to choose from and we ended up with Nutella. To be honest, the two scoops of rocher and vanilla ice cream were spot on. However, that couldn't be said for the toast. Although light and fluffy, it lacks that punch of butter. You can vaguely taste much butter when you cut open the toast which had us feeling quite disappointed. At $14.90, I would think twice before having this toast the next time. overallreview: Ful reivew and photos @ http://shauneeie.blogspot.sg/2015/07/dessert-project-havelock-road.html continue reading

[ Dessert Project ]Location: Blk 22 Havelock Rd #01-673Decor: White walls with simple "concrete" finished areas around the whole shop. Wooden tabletops & metal chairs.Service: Boss is friendly but he opened the shop late. Supposed to operate at 12noon but till 1230pm, it's not ready. My order came in only at 1.10pm Food: Other than coffee, I ordered the Nutella Toast. Boss says he get this inspiration from Thailand popular cafe, After You.This selection comes in a 3inch buttered thick toast (9 cuts), Vanilla & Ferrero Rocher ice cream scoops, Nutella drizzle, crushed peanuts, whipped cream & a strawberry. One share is $14.90 Enough to share among 2pax.If you are a Nutella lover, this choice is da bomb! The Ferrero Rocher ice cream was so yum too with Rocher bits mixed in Verdict: 4/5 Definitely will come again but hopefully they could open their shop punctually.I also suggested to Dessert Project, to cut the toast into 12s, rather than 9. So that butter coverage could be more. More BUTTER would taste even better continue reading
