Delifrance used to be so ubiquitous with outlets everywhere, but now they are not as prominent as before. I was a little surprised to find an outlet here at Hougang 1. The cafe is not within the mall itself, it's actually outside the mall in a separate annex to itself. You will have to walk out of the main entrance to see it. The cafe is generally much quieter and not very crowded due to it's awkward location. This means it's actually not too bad a place to chill out and have a quiet afternoon tea. I have a soft spot for Delifrance's fruit tarts and I couldn't stop myself from order their delicious looking strawberry fruit tart. (Unfortunately, another hot favourite, peach tart was sold out). I really like how they use fresh big strawberries, atop luscious custard cream and crumbly tart casing. Every bite of the tart is really satisfying and this is definitely a good start to afternoon tea! continue reading
