Having located in a corner of West Coast Plaza for a number of years, ThaiExpress is seen going strong after so many of the food chains had closed down.Red Dragon & Thai Ice Tea: Red dragon Fruit Drink is the current recommended drink in Thai Express. Its a exotic Fruity mix, consisting of soda and red dragon fruit cubes that make us feel refreshing after sipping the drink. Thai Ice Tea was brilliant orange in color filled with vanilla aroma, would have expected the taste to be stronger.Cost: $3.90 & $4.90Beef Stick Noodle is one of my favourite noodle dish from them. Love its abundance of tender beef brisket and its strong black beef broth even though MSG was added.Cost: $12.90Thai Style Roasted chicken thai was tender and tasty. However the sweet and sour sauce was rather water and not to my liking. Pineapple Rice was not bad and was filled with aroma. Falls within expectation.Cost: $11.90 continue reading

No queue on a friday night, we walked into Thai Express ravenous. (We were here for Sushi Tei but the queue was frightful)There was a curry promotion going on. $12.90++ for the chicken curry set. It came in a little claypot atop a wooden board, rather pretty I would say. There were slices of paratha to drip into the curry; tasted like the frozen ones I always get at NTUC. Curry was not spicy and a tad too sweet.Staff was nice enough to get more sauce for us when we asked. My hub had the Tom yam rice Sa-nook set $8.90++. Lemongrass kinda overpowered the rice, but prawns were nice and crunchy. Didn't fancy the too oily fried fishcake and dessert was quite pathetic.Knowing Thai Express' standards, we weren't expecting much. Passable meal to get by. continue reading

my girlfriend want to eat tom yam fried rice so we went to thai express for lunch and they have those set meals promotion which comes with an appetiser, main course and dessert for a much cheaper price. my girlfriend ordered the tom yam fried rice but was too spicy for her so i exchanged mine with hers. i have the agree the fried rice was much spicer than those we tried at other outlets. but i think the set meals are quite value for money especially when the dishes sold are not cheap. and i notice this store is seriously lack of manpower because we always have to wait very long for the food to be served and sometimes even forgotten about our orders continue reading

one of my favourite dish in thai express is their laksa, it has a nice blend of very strong coconut and curry taste. they also have some promotional sets which I think are good to eat cause they are cheaper and comes with a side dish and dessert. their otah is also nice to eat. however the bad thing about this outlet is their super slow service. the food always take forever to come after we placed our order. continue reading

I can't believe we just found out how nice Thai Express is! I ordered the Beef Noodle (Soup) and while it is not that authentic, it really taste great! The beef serving was a lot and the noodles were just right. not too soggy and not too hard. I also love the chendol. Only order the chendol if you have a sweet tooth because the taste of the gula melakacan be quite overwhelming. BUt the chendol is really nice... and i would come back just the chendol! For the appetiser, we ordered this prawn toast and it was equally nice. My bf ordered the Pad Thai and it was great. Service was good because the staffs were quick and attentive. definitely coming for a second visit! continue reading
