I was very interested to try out their new item on the menu when i heard about it. Crispy Salt Pepper Mushroom! Sounds good yah!! Personally i love my golden mushroom but first time ever i had it in fried version.Wanted to try kimchi flavor but it wasn't available so i took sour cream instead. Taste ok to me! And the fried mushroom is really addictive. Even my grandma likes it =) It's something i will surely buy again and this time I hope kimchi flavor is available. continue reading

My hubby is huge fan for Taiwan Egg Crepe and so each time he has craving for it, we would buy it from Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks stall.. Our favourite is the Crispy Floss Egg Crepe. The egg is panfried and topped with an imported spring onion crepe. Chicken floss is then added to the top before rolling the crepe up and cut into bite size... Sweet sauce and Chinese parsley are added on the crepe. The crepe is soft and a little springy, the floss and egg filling is well combined and nice.. You have to eat it with the sweet sauce and Chinese parsley, the whole taste is so nice... continue reading

Shilin's Crispy Floss Egg Crepe makes a very nice and light appetizer. The fluffy chicken floss is rolled in the egg crepe and drizzled with some sweet sauce. It is very crispy and savoury! The whole crepe is cut to bite sized pieces before being served and I like that they are generous with the amount of chicken floss. I'll be back to try out their other crepes like the sausage cheese and mushroom cheese egg crepe. continue reading

Always bought the sausage cheese egg crepe from shihlin ;DFor the sausage cheese egg crepe I ordered that day, the presentation no longer looks as nice.Normally they would have it arranged neatly but for that day’s, the crepe was quite untidily placed into the box.):Glad the taste did not differ that much. Still pretty love it When consumed right after it’s done, the cheese in it will stretch and the crepe is really crispy and fresh ;D continue reading

After doing groceries in FairPrice Xtra at Nex, I decided to buy some snacks for my boyfriend's family.I suggested to buy some chicken fillet (雞排) from the Taiwan Street Snacks at floor B1, which is near the Serangoon MRT exit, but my boyfriend was said that Shih Lin's chicken fillets are better.Shih Lin's stall is just outside FairPrice Xtra, and there were many people queueing for chicken fillets.I decided to give it a try The customer service of the stall was very well organized. The queue cleared very fast (I only waited for approximately 10 minutes),and the workers were very efficient and polite. There was a queue for taking orders behind, and there was also a queue to collect your food in front. As shown in the picture above, the food are cooked on the spot. Therefore, the snacks from there are all served hot and fresh!!I ordered a packet of XXL Crispy Chicken and a packet of Sweet Plum Potato Fries. The XXL Crispy Chicken costs me $3.80 while the Sweet Plum Potato Fries costs me $2.80.When the XXL Crispy Chicken fillet was served, the man was asking me whether I wanted to add chilli powder or not.I told him no because I wanted the original taste of the fillet.I shall try the fillet with chilli powder the next time, though!!The XXL Crispy Chicken. It was still crispy and warm eventhough we ate it about an hour later!*claps*Really delicious and it wasn't that oily. Great snack! This packet of snack can actually serve about 2-3 persons.Very filling and yummy!!The outer breaded crust was crispy, while the inner fillet was tender! The Sweet Plum Potato Fries.HONESTLY THIS IS EVEN BETTER THAN THE CHICKEN FILLET!!This snack is extremely special!!! I have never eaten this before!!The fries have a little bit of sour (plum) and sweet taste, very great feeling! When I took a bite on the fries, I felt the crispiness of the skinLater on, the plum's sour taste started to stimulate my tongue, followed by the sweetness of the sweet potatoes!!Despite the crusty skin, the inner parts were all soft.Best served hot. I could never get enough of them!!!I will be back for more fantastic Taiwanese Street Snacks continue reading
