Ever since I lasted visited their various outlet, I have noticed that their menu has not changed much for a period of duration except a minor change in their dessert which is lemongrass ice jelly with soursop. I have brought their set meal which comes with a side dish and dessert with a top up of a small sum of money. As for the main dish, I have ordered the braised pork belly with the salted vegetable. The pork belly is well braised, has a soft and tender texture. The amount of fats in the pork belly is also not too much. The sauce is well seasoned and is not too salty and goes well together with the rice. As for the rice, I think it is a little too moist for my preference. Together with the salted vegetable and the pork belly, it forms a unique taste combination. As for the side dish and dessert, it includes a piece of the steamed cake as well as the lemongrass ice jelly with soursop. The taste of the yam cake is quite normal. As for the lemongrass ice jelly with soursop, the addition of the lemongrass to the ice jelly bring a refreshing flavour but I think the amount of the lemongrass should be reduced as the taste is a little too strong for my preference. Overall, I think that they should introduce new dishes to attract more customer to patronize their stall. 繼續閱讀

I was craving for some sweet desserts after lunch and decided upon Hong Kong Sheng Kee dessert. I decided to get the snow fungus with papaya as it a more is nourishing dessert. I ordered a takeaway, and it is stored in its red paper bowl with its name. The dessert is quite yummy and not too sweet which increases its health factor. The white fungus is rather hard though, it would be better if it is softer. There are also some gingko nuts and a small whitish nut which I cant identify. I will probably be back to try out more of the desserts that they offer, especially the mango sago which they are famous for. 繼續閱讀

Initially there aren’t enough seats for 6 persons but the auntie there helped us by asking a customer politely to move to the side table so that we can have a table for 6 together.Nice service attitude ;DI decided to order the Dumpling Noodles Soup which is $5.90, with the $1.50 meal upgrade for a bowl of almond paste and a carrot cake. When placing my order at the counter, the service staff recommended certain dishes to us such as the glutinous rice ball and the other desserts. It’s alright that she’s introducing the products to us but what irritated me a little was that she kept on asking and indirectly insisting us to get her recommendations. She kept saying that it’s nice and etc. In the end I agreed to get a pair of glutinous rice balls for an extra $1. She did not gave up recommending others even after this :xNormally the dessert and carrot cake will come first but the mains came first this time.My dumpling noodles soup took a while to arrive and when it does, we spotted a strand of hair in the bowl.Immediately I requested for a change and glad that the service staff politely apologized and changed it.The taste of the dumpling noodles soup is average. The soup base is light and a little bland. The guo tiao I ordered is bland too, the flavours did not blend in well. The noodles and soup portion was quite disappointing but the dumplings are nice though ;DThe ingredients in the dumplings are pretty generous and the flavor is just right. The paste in it tastes nice and retains a chewy texture. The carrot cake was nicely fried and is fragrant, soft and nice ;DThe almond paste is as usual, thick and with the right amount of almond taste.Overall it’s a satisfactory visit, with an affordable price where you can get a meal for below $10. 繼續閱讀

There is always space for desserts, especially Hong Kong desserts. I've tried their signature Mango Pomelo before (which by the way is really really good!) so I decided to go for my favourite Almond Paste instead today. They served it warm and the good thing is that it isn't too sweet. We also ordered some Mango Glutinous Rice Balls to share. It's basically mango slices wrapped in glutinous rice skin and rolled in shaved coconut. A combination of sweet and sour definitely makes this dessert a refreshing treat after a good dinner! =] 繼續閱讀

If you want a simple quick lunch with aircon, perhaps Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert is quite an alright place to go. HK beef noodles ($6.90) has quite a few beef chunks, nicely stewed with flavourful sauce. Meat are tender too.HK dumpling noodles ($5.90) tastes alright. They usually serve this in soup. When I asked for dry noodle but soup dumpling, the cook gave me a 'unbelievable' look. Anyway, the dumplings are quite big with lots of fillings. You can add an extra $1 to make it a set meal, which consists of an appetizer (carrot cake or yam cake), and a bowl of dessert (Red bean or sesame paste or almond paste or peanut paste). Red bean soup is so-so, but the yam cake tastes yummy! 繼續閱讀
