I visit Menichi regularly and I just love their side dishes but I decided to give their ramen a try. I tried their Wafu Chicken Katsu Ramen and was really pleased with the fact that the restaurant were very thoughtful. There was an explanation of the word "wafu" in their menu, which certainly helped me when deciding which ramen to try (They explained what tonkotsu and etc meant too in the menu)

The chicken cutlet was thrice the size I thought it would be (They seriously gave me a whole piece of chicken cutlet). It was tender but not really juicy? I didn't really like the chicken cutlet because it lacked of taste but my sister loved it with the sauce that had a sour taste. We don't know the name of the sauce but its similar to McDonald's bbq sauce.

The noodle itself is fine and springy. Pretty average standard. The soup, however, is the unique part of the dish. Normally whenever I eat Japanese ramen, they are tonkotsu soup. This wafu ramen however, has a chicken and seafood soup base that is added with soy sauce to create a tangy and savoury flavour. It has a special taste and its a definite must-try soup. The ramen is topped off with a piece of seaweed and Ajitsuke Tamago (Seasoned Boiled Egg). The egg is absolutely tasty. The outer layer of the egg is cooked while the parts nearing the egg yolk and egg yolk itself are half cooked. I love half-cooked eggs so it was just the kind I love.

Overall, it was delicious and worth the money! By the way, the dish actually has vegetables and bean sprouts but I requested for them to be excluded. Additionally, you can ask for noodles upsize for...FREE! They'll give you 20% more noodles (As seen in picture above).
