I've seen a number of people eating the fried noodles so I decided to give it a try this week. I ordered for the golden crispy noodle with sliced fish, shrimp, ham, egg, chicken and mushroom. It is pretty expensive in my opinion ($12.00) but when they served it, I understood why it is so expensive.The serving size isn't like what I pictured. It is pretty expensive in my opinion ($12.00) but when they served it, I understood why it is so expensive.The serving size isn't like what I pictured. It was TWICE the size I thought it'd be and even the waitress voluntarily asked if I'd like small bowls to share the noodles with my family. Not only was the serving size big, like always, Mayim use fresh, good quality and unique ingredients for their dishes.
The fried crispy noodles didn't have the "kee" (noodle smell) smell and kind of reminded me of the delicious noodles in Malaysia. It is topped off with oyster sauce which goes well with it. The sliced fish didn't have the "fishy" smell that I hate in fishes. The shrimp was fresh, the mushroom was well prepared.
The chicken looks like its only been boiled or something, but it was pretty good although simple. The ham was the most surprising part for me. I expected the ham to be thin and almost tasteless OR salty (like in many western restaurants) but the ham was thicker than I thought and I could actually taste the chicken. The fried egg is just regular fried egg.
I wasn't able to finish it but considering the portion of the noodles and the variety + quality of the ingredients, I think it was pretty worth the money. Though so, I think it'd be good if they downsize the noodle portion and upsize the portion of ham and chicken instead (there was only 2 small slices of ham and 1 small piece of chicken). Would try it again but definitely not within the next 3 months. (Sick of it b/c there's really just too much.)
