One thing I find the most annoying in a Caesar salad is the fact that most restaurants or cafes decide that it's okay to get lazy and just toss in a hard-boiled egg and be done with it.I can't properly respect a Caesar salad that does not have a poached egg in it. I'm glad that Chef Riz Redz at On The Table doesn't compromise on that front; though it is unfortunate that the establishment is pork-free and therefore does not have real bacon (instead it has beef bacon, which I feel is neither beef

I can't properly respect a Caesar salad that does not have a poached egg in it. I'm glad that Chef Riz Redz at On The Table doesn't compromise on that front; though it is unfortunate that the establishment is pork-free and therefore does not have real bacon (instead it has beef bacon, which I feel is neither beef nor bacon)... so minus points for that!

Besides that, I find that parmesan crackers instead of parmesan shavings are a good idea - they keep the salty sharp parmesan flavours in until the moment you decide you want it (when you wanna taste it, bite it).

Standard issue of cherry tomatoes, butterhead, and croutons make this salad overall very predictable; but the poached egg is what makes it stand above the other average, predictable, unexciting Caesar salads.
